Bukit Timah 11th Kilometre (Central) - Heavenly Horse Galloping across the Sky

The stretch of Bukit Timah commonly known as seventh milestone (11th km) used to be a crowded and prosperous area in the northen part of Singapore. BeautyWorld was located here but has since been torn down.

Close to the former BeautyWorld is Singapore's tallest hill, which was a source of granite and was once ranked second to a major quarry site on Pulau Ubin. Bukit Timah Hill is full of legends. In feng shui, it is variously known as fairies playing chess and roc spreading its wings. However, my ancestors considered this place a heavenly horse galloping across the sky.

Because of the general's land nearby, it is necessary to have symbols of a galloping horse and soldiers training in the area. Hence, Bukit Timah Hill is deemed a horse hill. Also the regular blasts of rocks blown up sounded like a fine horse sprinting off. There is even a poem describing this phenomenon.

A general drills his soldiers to demonstrate their might, A heavenly horse gallops across the sky like a rainbow; Guarding an important treasure land, Undergoing several changes.

This poem was not understood in the beginning. But, after the 1980s, when the flying star age changed, BeautyWorld's business took a nosedive, reducing the auspicious qi. The construction of BKE, the Malaysian government's removal of import limits on electrical goods, the widening gap between the exchange rates of Singapore's and Malaysia's currencies, and the dwindling number of Malaysians shopping in Singapore have sapped the force protecting this important treasure land.

Loss of Prosperous Qi - Business Has to Strive for Survival

Today, the quarry at Bukit Timah Hill has ceased operation. Hence, the galloping sounds of the heavenly horse are no longer heard, and the active spiritual force is gone. The skyscrapers in the area are laid out in the shape of a fence, thereby imprisoning the horse.

The site of the heavenly horse's saddle is a residential area. This piece of horse saddles land symbolises status, official title and fame. Residents will benefit from working in the public sector, but businessmen will have to endure hardship in order to achieve success. Why? There are several kinds of horse saddles, such as the golden, silver, warrior and common. Bukit Timah's seventh milestone is considered a warrior horse saddle land that explains why businessmen living on this land have to struggle to achieve success.

The old BeautyWorld was a horse trough land, but the heavenly horse no longer feeds here. Since BeatyWorld was demolished more that 10 years ago, Bukit Timah 11th Kilometre has become very quiet. Though not suitable for residential developments, the old horse trough land is ideal for shopping complexes. Land shaped like a horse trough often has great potential for miracles. Future redevelopment plans should include building a few fountains to activate the energy of the horse trough in order to bring back the prosperity of yesteryear.

The original abbot of Pu Ti Si Temple, Reverend Song Nian had proclaimed old BeautyWorld site a precious golden lotus land. He predicted that in time to come, a grand and glamorous building, similar to the golden lotus and with many fountains, would be erected on this site to enhance thee golden lotus feature.

This is very similar to my forefathers' prediction. In the past, BeautyWorld was undoubtedly lacking in the water element as it suffered regular outbreaks of the fire. Hence, for a new shopping complex development to be prosperous, it will be essential to augment the water element.

Bukit Timah Third Kilometre - Sun and Moon Shining in Unison

Bukit Timah is a prosperous land, in particular, the third milestone. Most residents are rich and famous, but there are also some who went bankrupt. Why is this so?

The fundamental reason lies in the saying prosperous land is in habited by prosperous people. It means that good people are not necessarily prosperous. Much depends on the individual's fate, although there are people who have inherited their forefathers' merits, But if the present generation does not put in effort to build up its fortune, the next generation may not have the fortune to live in a prosperous land.

In fact, many situations are predestined. There are some people who earn only a few thousands dollars a month, but after years of scrimping and saving manage to move into premier residential estates. Then there are those who take home tens of thousands of dollars every month, but after paying for this and that they still have to take loans in order to make ends meet. Their lives are destined to lack fortune. I recalled that in 1984, when fortune changed, many people originally without good fortune to live in expensive homes were busy upgrading and moving into luxurious houses.

People who yearn to live in big houses need to have both destiny and wealth. Greed is aptly described in the common refrain, I want to strike lottery so that I can own landed properties. It is wrong to have this mindset. The basic requirement of living on a landed property is to have a stable job and a career with long-term prospects. Another option is to nurture your children to become capable people.

Sun and Moon Shining in Unison will Produce Talents

The third milestone of Bukit Timah is a unique residential area. It not only has good feng shui but is also capable of bring good fortune. This land is known as sun and moon shining in unison. The present grounds of Chinese High School represented the sun and the old grounds of Nanyang Girls' High School the moon.

Many a times, when the landform and the design of the roads complement feng shui, the benefits of feng shui will be obvious. From the front, the Chinese High School looks like a rising sun, indirectly enhancing the features of feng shui.

The vicinity of the Chinese High School belongs to the wood element. The trees here are big and tall, and the land is rich in water. As this is the land of the Central Dragon, the Chinese High School has many famous neighbours like National Junior College and Nanyang Girls' High School. All these institutions have produced many talents, resembling sturdy trees that act as the nation's pillars.

The Chinese High School sits on the sun land, a yang land. This landform's characteristics include strength, frankness, perseverance and sincerity, and are beneficial to business and education. Nanyang Girls' High School was sited on moon land, an yin land. It had a gentle, introverted and meticulous character that was careful in handling matters, and so beneficial to politics and specialised work.

For many years, both schools produced many outstanding students and made significant contributions to society. With the passage of time, Nanyang Girls' High School has relocated to thee former site of the National Junior College, with the latter as its new neighbour.
By doing so, it changed the pattern of sun and moon shining in unison. Previously, the Chinese High School symbolised the sun and represented the male gender; Nanyang Girls' High School located behind it symbolised the moon an represented the female gender. Today, they face each other. This change could mean that in future, Singapore will see a competition of the two genders. Moreover, it might mean that men will no longer rule the political arena.

This district may be prone to floods, but it is blessed with good fortune and is suitable for residential, but not commercial purposes.
