Kandang Kerbau (South)

Kandang Kerbau (South) - Divine Pig in Spring Slumber

Kandang Kerbau (KK) Hospital is familiar most Singaporeans. It is here that the first bawl of many babies is heard.

Feng shui identifies this place as a pig den known as the divine pig in spring slumber. Many people view pigs as dirty, lazy and lacking in grey matter. Phrases like lazy ass pig and stupid as a pig are very common.

How much truth does this common perception hold? An article was once published in the West to correct the general misconception about pigs. This article pointed out that pigs are actually fastidiously clean and intelligent creatures. They eat whatever is offered and sleep in whatever living conditions provided. Neither demanding nor calculative, they love out their live without a grouse.

Land of Pig Symbolises Fecundity

Pigs are productive animals and give birth to 12 to 14 piglets per litter. Few animals can rival a pig's productivity so it is a very appropriate symbol for fecundity. Kandang Kerbau is Singapore's only pig land and over the years, has undergone only minor changes. This pig land has a unique formation. KK hospital, Singapore's largest gynaecology hospital was sited here. On the pig's head are many temples and schools, including Mee Toh School and Leong San See Temple.

An Ideal Spot for Settling Down

A pig land is a quiet, shady and cool place. As its residents are sometimes overcome by a great desire for a cap, it is a good place fore settling down.

Though it looks ordinary, this pig land is actually a blessed land. It is a good place for people who wish to start their own businesses, for they might be rewarded with stunning returns. Though it is advantageous to businessmen, the qi of the land will nudge residents towards sloppiness, and suffer from a lack of discipline and drive. As such, residents have to shake off their laziness and work hard at improving themselves to make up for their weaknesses.

Since KK hospital shifted, the feng shui formation of divine pig in spring slumber has changed. Originally, the divine pig had its back to Kampong Java Road. It has since turned to face it. With the development of the Northeast MRT line, Kandang Kerbau, including Farrer Park, faces drastic changes. This can be a result of the divine pig's turning around.

The new KK Women's and Children's Hospital has a unique design and is equipped with advance facilities. It is totally different from its old self, which looked more like a pig trough. The new hospital's formation is like a golden basin, signifying that in future the destinies of babies will get better and better. On top of that, the hospital is near the head of the Southern Dragon which is also the Wealth Dragon. It is likely that the new generation will not only lead more prosperous lives but will also become more materialistic.

Although a mercenary outlook on life argues that survival is based on benefits, the Southern Dragon has placed patriotism and love for one's fellow citizens about all else. Hence babies born here are talented with good moral characters and tremendous potential for prosperity.

However children born within the golden basin are likely to have a weak respiratory system. Only by having a strong body, can we work for the betterment of society. As such, I suggest that a new fitness centre be built at KK Hospital.
