Ang Mo Kio used to be known by more colourful terms like Red haired Bridge, Drain Road , Starfruit Garden and Green Hill.

Situated in the centre of the Southern Dragon, it is crowned by Yishun and linked to Bright Hill and Bishan below. The Southern Dragon is also called the Wealth Dragon or Graceful Dragon. Seated on the dragon, Ang Mo Kio is the one and only land with five ghosts transporting treasure that can rival Clementi's two imps stealing golden incense burner.
