LandSuzhou is a city in China famous for its beautiful women. Similarly, in Singapore, Hougang is known for its beauties.Formally a Teochew town, Teochew ladies were well known for their beauty and intelligence.

Although Hougang New Town is inhabited by different dialect groups, this land of belles still produces beauties.

In the art of feng shui, Hougang New Town is considered to be a paired lotus land. The lotus here is slightly different from that of Toa Payoh's. It has lotus leaves, lotus roots and horned chestnuts.
