Paya Lebar (East)

Paya Lebar (East)- Twin Goats Standing Guard

China has a :goat city while Singapore has a goat land. Guangchou, the goat city of China, is also the largest city in southern China and is known the world over. Where is Singapore's goat land? Not many people are aware that Singapore's goat land actually lies between the Tai Seng and Kaki Bukit Industrial Estates.

Stimulating the Development of Industrial Fields

What exactly is a goat land? What are its characteristics and how is it related to the goat city?
Let us begin with the goat. Goats look gentle, are well behaved, pure and kind. There are, however, the heroes in the animal kingdom. Normally, the goat will try its best to exercise forbearance, but there is a limit to its patience. When forced to the end of its tether, the goat will put up a great fight. This sudden change in temperament usually catches the opponent by surprise.

Precautions can be taken when a cow loses its temper, but when a goat throws a tantrum it is prone to do things without a thought for the consequences, not even death. As such, since ancient times, countless fearless heroes have appeared in China's goat city, Guangzhou, the most famous of which are the 72 martyrs of Huanghuagang.

When the nation is in trouble, the goat land will be galvanised into action, protecting the country from destruction and defending the people from harm. Even during peacetime, it does not remain idle and will work hard at promoting industrial development.

These two goats have another mission - to support Paya Lebar Airport. This has never changed.

Producing Bandits and Millionaires

What is interesting about this goat land is that it produces bandits, rich men, politicians and martial arts experts.

Today's Kampong Ubi Estate no longer has any tapioca, and has already been transformed into a light-industry estate. Tai Seng and Kaki Bukit are also experiencing massive changes as they develop into important industrial estates in Singapore. Hardware and mechanical engineering trades will prosper here. Food manufacturing, freight forwarding and interior decoration businesses will also be able to prosper.

In the art of feng shui, the goat land is good for industrial development. Goats are mammals that live together in groups. In Chinese history, goats are regarded as heroes because they fight their utmost best to the end. Goats are also regarded as filial creatures because they kneel down when suckling the mother goat, as if expressing their gratitude. They are celestial creatures and in Taoism are seen as nature loving and models of truth, trust, determination, honesty and mildness. Hence, there are numerous temples and other places of worship on a goat land.

A goat is determined and will gladly undertake what others avoid. If upright and moral, one will do well in one's career and benefit the whole of humankind. However, if one were to go astray, one will inflict danger and harm on society. Hence while developing industries here, we must not neglect ideological education in order to bring harmony and stability to society.

The basic structure of both the Kampong Ubi and Kaki Bukit industrial estates can already be seen and have attracted numerous small and medium local forms and overseas investors. Many people have consulted me on the right business to invest in these estates. The goat possesses an independent, introspective, determined, action-oriented character that likes to see its ideals being realised. Hence, those who dabble in pioneering business like high-tech industries; production of new goods like an innovative all-in-one hand phone, and e-commerce should be able to prosper here.

However, people with strong resolves are usually subjected to lots of pressure. It will thus be advisable to build some bridges and streams in the residential and industrial areas here to enhance the environment and alleviate the stress.
